Oriana Murphy

Case Manager

Oriana is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and works with individuals and families who are experiencing challenges related to substance use, mood changes, relational/attachment difficulties, and general life transitions. She supports and celebrates all identities, relationship orientations, and bodies. Her work is grounded in Liberation psychology and believes in meeting individuals where they are at, and that building safety and support is a community effort that sometimes starts within the therapeutic relationship and grows outward.

In her private practice, she specialize in trauma-informed care from an anti-oppression, and liberation lens. Oriana supports those she works with through brainspotting, EMDR, sociometric and psychodramatic techniques, harm reduction and other substance use recovery methods, mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapy; regardless of the method, what matters is who is in front of her.

Clinically, her approach is to center the needs of her clients and their communities, by not perceiving herself as the expert, and working in collaboration with the folks she works with. While recognizing that many experience marginalization, stigma, and other barriers when attempting to access mental health support, she hopes to provide accessible grounding skills.

While she currently focuses on private practice, case management, and intern supervision, Oriana has worked in the addiction treatment space for 19 years overseeing the operations and clinical care of a few programs. She has taught addiction studies for 8 years and continues to consult for programs to ensure they are honoring the integrity of their clients.  Finally, she  recently completed her third Masters Degree through Pacifica Graduate School, with an emphasis in decolonial psychology.
